The Society made a robust submission to the Ministry of Energys Long-term Energy Plan (LTEP) consultation on September 16.With policy development led by the Technical Advisory Committee and its chair David Brown, the cornerstone of The Societys LTEP submission was the belief that the energy sector works best for Ontarians when decisions are made through evidence-based, long-term planning.
Other topics addressed in the submission include The Societys position on conservation and demand management programs, nuclear generation, natural gas, conversion of fossil fuel-heavy generation stations, hydroelectric generation, non-hydro renewables, energy storage, transmission planning, smart grid, and engagement with Aboriginal peoples.
