The Society has appointed a new staff director to lead the organization’s staff. Cim Nunn, who started his new duties on September 5, had previously worked with SEP as both a member of the staff and as a contractor responsible for the Keep Hydro Public and Keep Toronto Hydro Public campaigns.
Nunn takes over the senior staff role from Derek Blackadder, who is planning a characteristically active and activist retirement.
Id like to thank Derek for his dedicated service to our union, said President Scott Travers. Dereks principled and upbeat management style served us well and I know he will be missed by elected leaders and union staff alike.
In lieu of parting gifts, Blackadder requested SEP make a donation in his name to the Workers Arts and Heritage Centre in Hamilton.
In addition to his work with SEP, Nunn built a successful consulting career working with unions and other progressive organizations to create and manage campaigns that promote the public good.
Nunn, who reports to SEPs Executive Board, is charged with ensuring the unions staff work effectively to provide the strongest representation possible to members.
