Greg Junemann, the long-time president of International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, the international union to which The Society is affiliated, has announced he will retire at the end of his term in June 2018.
Having served in the role for 24 years, Junemann says that at the age of 64 it is time to return to his home in Wisconsin to begin the next stage of his life in retirement.
SEP President Scott Travers says Junemann will be missed by Society members.
Greg has always been an incredible ally and supporter of The Society, said Travers. Through thick and thin Greg has always been there when weve needed him.
Greg was a big help during the Hydro One strike but even in the last round of bargaining at Bruce Power he redirected additional resources from the International to help us campaign for a better deal.
A successor to Junemann will be elected at the IFPTEs 59th convention, held June 25-28, 2018 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
